East High School

Where ambition belongs

East High School is a public high school in the Salt Lake City School District, serving grades 9 through 12 at 840 South 1300 East in Salt Lake City, Utah. Founded in 1913, East is one of the city’s oldest comprehensive high schools, currently enrolling more than 1,600 students who represent more than 30 languages and countries. The Leopards compete in 24 sports and support 31 school and student clubs, and the school offers 24 Advanced Placement courses along with AP Capstone, concurrent enrollment, Career and Technical Education pathways, and Dual Language Immersion in Spanish. East High is nationally known as a filming location for Disney’s High School Musical franchise and the Disney+ series High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, though its core academic identity centers on its AP program rather than the films. Paul Schulte serves as interim principal for the 2026-27 school year.
