Clayton Middle School

Clayton Middle School is a public middle school in the Salt Lake City School District, serving students in grades seven and eight. The school sits at 1470 South 1900 East in the Wasatch Hollow area on Salt Lake City’s east side. Federal data lists an enrollment of about 567 students with a student to teacher ratio near nineteen to one. Principal Kate Arch leads a staff that offers coursework in band and orchestra, dance and theater, world languages, career and technical education, and English language development alongside core academics. GreatSchools currently rates Clayton 9 out of 10, one of the higher marks among Salt Lake City School District middle schools, based on state test scores and attendance figures published by the Utah State Board of Education.
