Candlewood Suites Salt Lake City Airport West sits in the 84116 airport district on the west side of Salt Lake City, roughly three miles from Salt Lake City International Airport. The property is new. Its own booking page lists it as opening soon and accepting reservations for arrivals on or after November 1, 2026, so no guest reviews or star rating have accumulated on its Google listing yet.

The format is extended stay rather than overnight transient. Rooms are studio suites and one bedroom suites, and every one has a full kitchen with a refrigerator, stovetop, microwave, dishwasher and counter space. The front desk lends out specialty appliances for guests who want to cook something the standard setup does not cover. Housekeeping runs weekly rather than daily, a detail worth knowing before a long stay.

On site, guests get complimentary laundry available 24 hours a day, a fitness center with free weights, a treadmill, a stationary bicycle and elliptical machines, and a 24 hour market stocked with breakfast items, beverages, snacks and frozen entrees. Wi-Fi is included. There is no pool and no restaurant. The hotel advertises a dog friendly stay, though its own FAQ page says pets are not allowed, so confirm the current policy before booking.

Getting in and out is straightforward from this corner of the valley. The hotel runs a complimentary airport shuttle listed as operating around the clock, seven days a week, plus a complimentary local area shuttle. Parking is free for registered guests, outdoors and lighted, on a single level front and back. From the airport terminal, the UTA TRAX Green Line runs into downtown Salt Lake City daily from 5:21 a.m. to 11:21 p.m.

By the hotel’s own published distances, Temple Square and Trolley Square sit about 8 miles east, the Utah State Fairpark about 5 miles, and the University of Utah, Natural History Museum of Utah and Red Butte Garden between 10 and 11 miles. The Cottonwood canyon resorts run 27 to 30 miles out, and Park City about 32. Check-in starts at 4 p.m., check-out is 11 a.m., and the minimum check-in age is 21.
