Newman School is a Salt Lake City School District elementary school in the Rose Park neighborhood of Salt Lake City, Utah, serving students from Pre-Kindergarten through grade 6. Principal Kenneth Limb welcomes families to what the school calls home of the Tigers, a community built by caring, skilled, and passionate faculty and staff. Newman offers a Dual Immersion program along with a Pre-Kindergarten program, an Extended Learning Program for gifted and high ability students, and an After School Program, and it follows the Utah Core curriculum used across the district. For the 2024-2025 school year the school enrolled 405 students across grades PK through 6, all of which had non-zero enrollment counts in the federal per-grade data, with a student to teacher ratio of about 14 to 1, lower than the Utah state average. GreatSchools rates Newman 4 out of 10 based on Utah State Board of Education test score and attendance data, and Principal Limb received the Utah State Board of Education’s 2026 Sorenson Legacy Award for Excellence in Arts Education.
